Thanks for taking the time to find out a little bit about this blog. This blog launched in September 2013 because I wanted to share my experiences as a new homeowner.
I live in New Jersey where my husband and I became first time homeowners in 2012. I enjoy reading personal finance blogs because I have seen that it is a great community where people learn from each other. This is a community I would like to be a part of and contribute through this little blog by sharing my personal experiences and lessons learned in my financial life.
I wasn’t always the best at personal finance. I started working right out of high school with little guidance on how to manage money. I graduated with a degree in Business Administration. I worked all through college holding down a full-time job while I earned my degree in the evenings. During this time I made my share of mistakes with money but in my late 20s I wanted to start making smarter choices so I began educating myself on financial topics.
Together my husband and I got out of credit card debt years ago and basically lived on one income while we earned a dual income. We are now on that quest again after going over budget on our home renovations in 2012.
Taking the time to learn about our finances really has become our greatest weapon during challenging years. We plan on sharing our experiences as new homeowners as well as other topics and what has worked for us.
Thanks for stopping by and we hope you enjoy our blog.
